Opened in October 2021, the first match held at the Al Thumama Stadium, which took 4 years to complete, was the final of the Amir Cup between Al Sadd and Al Rayyan. It went on to host a further 6 matches at the 2021 FIFA Arab Cup, including the semi final match featuring Qatar. Located in the southern side of Doha, it’s capacity will be trimmed by half after the World Cup, with seats being donated to developing countries
