The 2010 World Cup champions have had a torrid few tournaments, failing to get out of the Group Stages in 2014 and then being eliminated in the Round of 16 four years ago against hosts Russia. Their qualification campaign had few issues; they lost one match against Sweden and required a point to secure top spot on the final day, but they did end up finishing the group 4 points clear. Spain had a decent European Championship campaign last year, making the semi-finals but losing out to eventual champions Italy on penalties. A few months later, they got their revenge by defeating Italy in the semi finals of the UEFA Nations League, but they did lose out in the final with a 1-2 defeat against France.

22 year old Torres moved from Manchester City to Barcelona in the January 2022 transfer window, scoring 7 goals in his 26 games. Despite only featuring in six qualifying matches, Torres also ended as the nations top scorer in qualifying with 4 goals, the nations top scorer in last year’s Nations League campaign with 6 goals, and notched up 2 more the European Championships last year. He will surely be the main attacking outlet for this Spanish side.
